Loretta Viscuso
14/01/1955
My artistic journey began while studying Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of Venice. After graduating, I decided to follow my calling by enrolling at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where I obtained a diploma in painting.
For many years, I taught painting and drawing in secondary art schools, often organising workshops and creative projects with students.
Alongside teaching, I have always continued my research into painting, experimenting with different techniques and materials and exhibiting my work in numerous exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad.
In recent years, my work has focused on the interaction between painting, drawing and natural elements. Collecting objects such as branches, leaves, seeds and plant fragments has become an integral part of the creative process: each element is chosen, observed and reworked within the artistic composition.
These natural materials are not mere decorative details, but true protagonists of my work: they carry with them a history, a time and an identity that intertwine with the pictorial gesture and the graphic mark, giving shape to works that arise from a profound dialogue between nature and artistic vision.
